Roxvid Hydrogen Peroxide is a pharmaceutical-grade antiseptic, disinfectant, and oxidizing solution commonly used for first aid, oral hygiene, and cosmetic applications.
Available Strengths & Common Uses
The product comes in different concentrations depending on your intended application:
Roxvid 3% Solution: This 10 Volume strength is designed for external first aid. It cleans minor cuts, scrapes, and abrasions, and can be diluted to act as a mouthwash for minor oral irritation.
Roxvid 6% Solution: This 20 Volume strength offers a more powerful bubbling (effervescent) action to mechanically lift debris from wounds. It is also widely used in cosmetics as a hair bleach developer and for hard-surface disinfection.
Essential Safety & Dilution Guidelines
First Aid: For minor wounds, hydrogen peroxide solutions should be diluted with water before application, as stronger concentrations can irritate tissues. It is recommended to apply with clean gauze, allow for a brief foaming action to lift debris, and rinse thoroughly.
Oral Rinse: When used for oral hygiene, the solution should be significantly diluted with water for gargling or rinsing, after which it should be completely expectorated. Never swallow the solution.
Contraindications: Hydrogen peroxide should not be applied to deep puncture wounds, animal bites, or serious burns without guidance from a healthcare provider. It is generally not recommended for use on children under 12 years old without seeking medical advice first.
Surface Disinfecting: Hydrogen peroxide formulations can be used on non-porous household surfaces to reduce bacteria, germs, and mold. It is advised to spot-test a small area first, as the solution can bleach or corrode certain materials.
